La casita de las pinzas de... Mimosa Patchwork

***
I still remember when I saw Monica's (from  L'Atelier de Mimosapatchwork) bag for laundry pegs. She told me she had designed it herself and I suggested her to make a kit because I thought it would sell very well. Well, I was sure I would get one. So when she offered me to take a course with her to make it I couldn't decline it. Since I could only expend the morning in Miranda de Ebro, I didn't have enough time to finish it so I've kept it in my basket of unfinished projects.... until now!!!

A few days ago I decided I had to finish it because I loved it and it was a pity to have it hidden at the bottom of a basket. So once I have finished it I'm delighted to share it with all of you. I hope you all like it as much as I do, and remember if you want one for yourself talk to Monica, I'm sure she'll be delighted to prepare a kit for you!!

¡Feliz mitad de semana a tod@s! ¡Ya queda menos para el viernes!

Bolso Vintage Lino

***
This really amazing vintage bag is a design of Ausa Blanca. I discovered it a couple of years ago on my first visit to Sitges Patchwork Festival. As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be mine (as usual, hahaha). I loved the match of linen, laces and burlap; I thought it was a curious match I wouldn’t have ever chosen by myself (without having this handbag in mind) but it matched perfectly and it has been a great mix for a vintage looking bag.

***
Even if I had in mind writing my post last Friday (as I try to do every Friday) I didn’t do it because I couldn’t take the pictures of my new handbag. You may ask yourself why…. Well, truth is that I couldn’t decide which button to use for closing the bag. I have finally chosen the one shown on the picture, a mother pearl one, but still think that the other one was also very gorgeous (and a little present of my dear MJ) that’s why took me so long to decide. Even though the original design didn't have one I felt like there was something missing when I finished it, have I done right?

¡Feliz San Viernes a tod@s!

Here am I with my Brit Style clutch. Recently, I found this fabric full of Vespa motorcycles I had bought quite a long time ago. Even if I bought it because I loved the design I haven't used it before because I didn't really know what to use it for. It's something that happens to me every now and then, I buy fabrics that love when I see them at the shop but don't really know what to do with them afterwards. Luckily, I thought of something for this one, a clutch designed by Michelle Patterns.

Can you imagine yourself with blue jeans, a simple white shirt, a pair of red flat shoes, your clutch and getting out to have a drink? I do, oh yes I do!!! Well, I have to go to work now but it might be my plan tomorrow.

¡Feliz San Viernes!

El shopping bag Country Kitty de... Maru

***
In March 2015, Country Kitty published a tutorial where she explained how to make this gorgeous shopping bag. As soon as she published the tutorial I made one for myself, as you can see at this link. I found it very useful, because it's quite big and very light, so I used it quite a lot until the end of the summer. Everyone at work told me they loved it and my boss, Maru, asked me for one. Today I would like to share with all of you the one I made for her.

***
Hers is a smaller version since she didn't want a big one. Don't you think that it's very cute? If you like it you can get the free tutorial at Country Kitty's web and start making one already for next Spring. You'll find that it's very easy to make, it won't take you more than an afternoon. Hope to see many around the web sphere.

¡Feliz Jueves!

***
My friend, Nacho, started baking his own bread a few months ago. I must say I have tried it and I really like it, it's just so tasty. So when he asked me if I would make a bread bag for him I just couldn't say no. He had some fabric left from the chair pillows and the curtains of his kitchen so he brought it. I must admit that made my job even easier, I only had to choose the fabric for the letters and the baguette I applied to the bag.

Buen trato, ¿no?
***
Hope you all like the final result. Both his wife and he were very happy with their new bread bag and with a couple of pot holders I made as an extra with the remaining fabric. Hope this helps him keeping on baking his own bread so I can taste it every now and then. Good business, isn't it?

¡Feliz finde a tod@s!

***
It's been quite a long time since I made this knitting needles case. The original case was similar but I made some changes in order to use it for my knitting needles instead of my sewing ones. I must say I don't remember very well the original one, maybe the difference was in the needles pocket, I think it had a needle book instead of the pocket. So if you don't knit you can change that and use it for sewing accessories. Hope you like the idea!!!

***
I think this design could be nicely adapted depending on what you need. Can you imagine leaving the outside shape with the handles and lace to close it, and making two inside pockets in order to hold a book?? Don't you think it would make a nice book case?? What about if you just leave the big pockets, close it on the sides and use it as a nice purse?? One of my aunties suggested me this option because she thought it was too cute not to show it off more. One way or the other, I hope you all like the design. Hope you all tell be which is your favorite option.

¡Feliz semana y gracias por vuestra visita!

¿Bolsa labor o bolso?

***
Last month Silvia, one of the teacher at La Tertulia del Patch, showed as a beautiful handbag she had made. As soon as my friend MJ saw it, she told me she wanted to do one for herself. I thought it was very nice, but I wasn't quite convinced about the size (the original was smaller).

After seeing the one MJ had made, I decided to change the original measures in order to make a bigger one.

***
I found a couple of fabrics I thought that look great together, since I couldn't decide which one I should use for the inside and which one for the outside, I decided to make my handbag double-sided. This way I will choose the side depending on the clothes I'm wearing.

***
Once it was finished, I tried to find a button to decorate the handbag a little bit, but as you can see I ended up doing a complete different thing. I made something that looks like a horse racing prize, as my friend MJ says. I made a suffolk puff and decorated it with a button I covered with fabric, some lace and pieces I trimmed from the fabrics I used.

***
I first made this handbag to take small projects with me (embroidery, knitting projects, and so on), but I like it so much I'm not sure I will use it for that purpose. I think I'll probably use it as a handbag.

...
Just before Xmas I got my first orders. I was quite happy to see that my work was appreciated.

...
The first order was from one of my friends at work, Miguel. He wanted me to make a sewing machine cover for his wife.

...
Once he chose the colour theme and told me the requirements it should meet (he wanted some pouches to keep the scissors and stuff like that), I was ready to start thinking.

...
I surfed the net for ideas but quite soon I had a clear idea of what I was going to do.

...
I took the idea for the front design from Country Kitty's blog. As soon as I saw it I knew it was what I was searching for and that it would look perfect for the project.

...
In order to be able to carry the sewing machine from one place to another without taking off the cover, I left an open space to pull the handle. I didn't really like to see the open space there all the time, so I decided to make a lapel to cover it while it wasn't needed.

...
I really enjoyed making this project so I was very happy when my friend's wife sent me a whatsapp to let me know how happy she was with the result.

...
The second order came from my friend Miriam, she wanted a flute cover for her son. As soon as she asked me if I could do it, I knew which fabric I would use for it. Not long ago I had visited Cañamazo, where I saw a musica score fabric I thought it was really nice.

 ...
A few weeks ago, I visited Country Kitty's blog and I saw a gorgeours laptop case she had done to take along with her in her visit to the States. As soon as I saw it I decided I had to do one for myself.

...
This is the result. Finally I'm using it to take the folder with the patchwork designs to class.

...
It was the first time I had to put a zip to a bag, so I had to look for a tutorial on the web. I found one from mairamkitty crafts which came very handy.

Hugs and hope you enjoy the rest of the week!!!

This week I got my act together. Oh yes, I start too many projects that I'm beginning to accumulate. I guess it's very easy, you see something you like so you start it but before it's finished you see something new that you like and instead of leaving it for the "to do" list you start it so you keep on accumulating more and more things to do. My new purpose is to try not to work on more than two, or three the most, projects at the same time. I always like to have a project I can easily take with me whenever I travel but from now on I'll try to have only one instead of two, three or more (I can't believe what I'm saying, let's see how long it takes till I forget about it, I guess as soon as my teacher Cristina appears with something new).

Finally I have finished the bag to keep the quilting frame. Truth is that it was almost finished but I was looking for a brown lace I bought a few months ago but finally I couldn't find it.  Instead I bought another brown lace with white dots that also looks great.

I have also made a new bag to take my patchwork. The other one I have is too big so it's not very confy for traveling. The new one I can easily take it with me anywhere and it looks so nice I'll probably use it as a handbag.

For the bag to keep the quilting frame I used the "flying geese" technique. It was the first time I used this technique and I really enjoyed it. It's not dificult and it looks very nice.

I took the opportunity to use this nice button I bought a while ago.
Mejor bien guardados.

Better well kept.

So here is my new patchwork bag. I still had some strips of fabril from the jelly-roll I bouth to make my other patchwork candy-shaped bag so I used them together with this gorgeous blue dotted fabric.

Here you can see in detail the nice button I've used.

I have put two interior pockets one for general purpose and another one for the mobile.

I hope you all like it as much as I do.

¡Feliz semana!

Have a nice week!!!

Mi bolsa de las labores

¡Hola a tod@s!
